Belly Dance is an invigorating yet relaxing exercise that opens the energy centers within the body. It gently tones the body while offering a fun atmosphere for expressive movement. Belly Dance was brought to the Chicago Worlds Fair in 1893 by Sol Bloom. This traditional celebratory dance has become a form of entertainment, exercise, and spirituality. The original form is said to have started in Egypt as a dance of fertility and birth ritual. Throughout the Middle East it is now performed in night clubs and hotels for entertainment. This dance embraces many aspects of natural movement. |
